Very nice hotel. Not a hotel in the sense us Americans are used to, but the room was comfortable, we had a hot water kettle, instant coffee, tea, sugar, place to hang clothes, AC. It has an elevator, but it is old, old, old. It never worked for us because someone above our floor forgot to close the door. Mido and Richard were very helpful in reception. Close to everything. Furniture is antique in the rooms, rooms were clean. Near metro, near taxi stops, near shopping, near eating and attractions. I would stay there again. Hotel we were supposed to stay in said it did not have us registered. HOtel Caravaggio had a space. Boy were we glad . We could have used more blankets, the room was very, very cold. Blanket needs to be replaced--too old.

They do not have a 24 hour reception person. Rooms are small for a 1 bed. Feels like 2 closets put together. Appeared safe, clean and friendly. Would not recommend staying due to now 24 hour assistance and very small room.

Shabby, dirtyooking hallway. Thé hotel room which cost 150 euros a night was cold, thé bathroom was covered in mould. Thé walls were dirty. We cimplained. Got a different room, but there was no hot water. Thé original order which showed on booking.com claimed thé city tax was included And that transfer from And to thé airport was included. When I had paid thé sum, this no longer showed in thé order And thé hotel made US pay another 50 euros as city tax. Booking.com refused to help. They just kept sending me emails telling me that they cannot help.

Easy access to Colleseum, Forum, and Trevi Fountain. Also, it’s close to Termini Station. Room was basic and clean with abundant security. Staff is genial and resourceful! They were kind to arrange skip the lines for us to ensure we did not miss any sites due to time constraints. Do not forget to tell them what time you are coming! Office cannot work 24/7

First of all I'd like to say reception was very nice and helped us plan our places to see. In that sense it was a fabulous experince. Thats where it ended. We arrived late morning and I was surprised at how the lobby? looked. But ok I looked past the coldness of it all. I was then informed of a city tax that i had to pay in cash, I seemed to have read about it somewhere. So I was ok with that. Then the shocker. I booked with Hotels.com and searched using 2 people as it was my husband and I. Well something got lost in the universe somewhere because (apparently) it showed a SINGLE room. I had to pay another &153 for the 5 nights we stayed. Now ok its fine, but the hotel knew from the beginning that it was 2 of us because I arranged with them to have a little something in the room for my husband seeing it was his birthday. "My husband and I" were mentioned many times in the multiple emails that went back and forth. Dont you think this should have been mentioned before hand. What if I was on a tight budget and had all my money accounted for and need that extra for emergency. Many people travel like that. That left such a bad taste in my mouth towards the hotel. Ok lets move on. We are then taken next door. The reception is in another part of the building. You have to walk outside to get to your room. Which is in what seems to be an apartment building. It was so confusing to me. We open the door to see the 3 garbage cans for the building in the foyer area. WHAT? So everytime you came or left you passed these huge garbage recepticles. Its freezing in there, it was warmer outside. Im trying to think positive. The smallest elevator to mankind is there waiting for my husband and only 2 bags. Thats all that fit. The rest of our bags has to be carried up 2 flights of stairs. Im seeing doors all with different door knobs with welcome mats, yep its an apartment building. We arrive to a glass door with Hotel Caravaggio written on it, but its on the opposite side. Im still confused. You need a code to unlock the door. You then arrive into a sitting area with 3 small bistro tables and a buffet. The buffet table that you see loaded with food in their advertised photos. No food was ever spotted there. He instructs us to open the door to make sure we know how to use the key. He helps us roll the bags and leaves. Why not because no tour of the rooms is neeeded, the room is barely big enough to fit us and the bags, If I had brought the extra bag I intended we'd be crawling over everything. And not enough space to place your clothes, we lived out of our suitcases for 5 days. As you can see from the pictures I posted that its beyond small. I was told I was lucky they had a last large room for us. Well Thank God (sarcatic). 3 hangers for 2 people. Bed was hard as a rock. The mini bar(that they advertise) was a small fridge underneath the desk that had a laminated card that had pictures of pop cans with prices on it. WHAT? The shower was so small my husband barely fit in it, he not a big guy thank God.Tiles cracked grouting had mold. Hot water was a gamble if got it. Max 2 towels for 2 people and these things that looked like cloth napkins. Not sure what we supposed to do with those, So we used them as bath mats seeing as there were none. The extra blanket they gave us, reluctenly, was so old and piled it had bleach stains on it. Ok lets make the best of it was the attitude. It was freezing so we called to reception. Theres a phone, but it doesnt work. So we used our own phones. Its getting better by the minute. We call about the heat and were told the heat doesnt work at that time of day because"people should be out now". WHAT? I was LIVID. It was so cold in Rome while we there. We also told him the phone doesnt work. "Yes we know" There was no set time that reception was there in case we needed something. We werent given any instructions as to what to do if there was an emergency. I immediately started to look for a new room. However it was Easter week there were none and if there was it wasit was an outrageous price. I dreaded everynight coming back to that hole in the wall, especially since it was a milestone birthday for my husband. I felt terrible. Ive traveld many places in my life and go with the punches but I HATED THIS PLACE.
